OpenStudy (legomyego180):
Point source you can point at it: ie: a coal mine, chemical leak from a plant, gasses from a refinery, oil spill. Non-point source come from more than one source: ie: fumes from traffic, agricultural runoff, drainage from chemicals on the road getting into water sources.
