B. trying to SHAPE the rocks as in MORPH which I think refers (Greek probably) to shape. Something which is AMORPHOUS has NO shape.

I think that A refers to chipping bits off to leave a SEDIMENT, and thus would be sedimentary. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong ...
