Express answer in simplest form. What is the area of a sector with radius 10" and measure of arc equal to 45 degrees

OpenStudy (roguehamster2073):

an answer close to 39

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hey James! Do you know how to find the area of a circle with radius 10" ?

OpenStudy (jamesreed30):

I do not @ zepdrix

OpenStudy (jamesreed30):

@zepdrix

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Formula for finding area of a circle is \(\large\rm \pi r^2\) So if you're given \(\large\rm r=10\) then start by calculating the area of the full circle. To find area of a sector, take only part of that full circle area. For this problem, we don't want the full circle (which would be all 360 degrees of it). We only want 45 of those 360 degrees. So you'll take the area of the entire circle, A, and multiply it by 45/360.

OpenStudy (jamesreed30):

So multiply 45 by 360 then what @zepdrix
