Am I correct in my approach? pls help

OpenStudy (rcp031):

Q's share is 9872 and the sum is divided among P,Q,R,S in ratios 2:3:1:7 The question is P & S' Sum together, Let x be the actual amount. then 3x=9872 x= 9872/3 Now P's share=(9872/3)*2 & S' share= (9872/3)*7 Total of P & Q=(9872/3)*2+(9872/3)*7=9872*3= 29616

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

yeah!

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

there's an error in your solution if total amount is x than how can the share be 3x

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

of Q

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

it would be 3/13*x = 9872

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

you find the x from here and than calculate (2+7 / 13) *T for the sum.

OpenStudy (princeharryyy):

not T it's x.

OpenStudy (rcp031):

Again it will be 9872*3= 29616.
