can someone explain this question r-1/2=-4 1/2

OpenStudy (serenityjustice74):

Okay so it's r - 0.50 = -4.5 right?

OpenStudy (xj10010):

can u explain

OpenStudy (serenityjustice74):

Yeah I am doing it now okay so you are solving r, right? so what you do is isolate the r and bring 0.5 to the other side so r = -4.5 + 0.5 (it's not -0.5 anymore because you subtracted it from both sides) r = -4

OpenStudy (serenityjustice74):

^ how you do it

OpenStudy (xj10010):

thx
