Which sequence of transformations creates a similar but not congruent triangle? A)Dilation and reflection B)Reflection and rotation C)Reflection and translation D)Translation and rotation
Do you know what congruent means?
Do YOU know what congruent means?
Congruency means the triangles would be \(exactly\) the same, disregarding their positions. So you can't have a clone/copy of the triangle.
Yes, but are you familiar with its meaning? Because that is a vital piece of info for this
Hint: moving the triangle wouldn't change its size.
ok
So based on that info, what choice seems most logical?
Idk thats why I'm asking, geez maybe A or B
I told you what congruent means: \(exactly\) the same shape/size. The problem doesn't want that, so you have to get a triangle that isn't a clone of the original. Again, moving or turning the triangle around does not change its size. Therefore it cannot work, because you would still have a congruent triangle.
If you moved a cell phone three feet on a desk, is the cell phone still the same as it was before you moved it?
Now if you hit the phone with a shrink ray, would the cell phone still be exactly the same as before?
A?
Yep ☺
Finally, GOD!!!
Thanks
Hope my analogy worked. :p No problem, good luck on your studies!
