If a line segment that measures 3 inches long is translated along a vector, how long will the new image be after the translation? How do you know ?

welcome to openstudy!!

A vector would just say how many spaces a figure or point is moving along the x-axis and the y-axis. In other words, you are basically translating the figure or point through a certain number of units. If a point (1,2) moved along the vector [2,3] then after the translation the new points would be (1+2, 2+3) = (3,5). But the main point is when you are translating a figure does it stay the same, shrinks, or grows?

OpenStudy (poison_princess1):

thank you so much
