OpenStudy (leenathan):

OpenStudy (leenathan):

Document 3: What were the accusations made by Austria-Hungary to Serbia? Austria-Hungary claimed that Serbia's government wasn't strict enough; that they weren't restricting the press and were tolerating the crimes of movements that were against the Monarchy. B) What two demands did Austria-Hungary make on Serbia? Austria-Hungary demanded that Serbia a formal assurance, such as a contract perhaps, stating that they would put an end to the propaganda that was against their government. The second demand was that Serbia was to allow Austro-Hungarian Government representatives to work with them to suppress the subversive movement. Document 4: A) According to the Versailles Treaty, who was responsible for World War I? Germany B) Why? They had lost the war. this right?

Need to write a paragraph about

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

Based on documents 4-7 only, what was the biggest reason for the beginning of World War I ?

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

@Jamierox4ev3r

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

is this like a DBQ? (document based question)

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

yea

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

but i need extreme help

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

oh, okay, these were pretty fun. So we want to try to look for a common theme in documents 4-7. What can you see?

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

I see that it talks alot about germany

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

and about europe

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Right! Specifically, we're seeing a lot of talk on how the Triple Alliance (Ottoman) clashed with the Entente, and the corresponding conflicts in

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

There's a lot of talk of building tensions, and a lot of blame being put out there, especially in Germany's direction.

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

The indirect causes were more significant to the outbreak of WWI than any direct cause. The threat of war between European nations was exponentially increasing right up until WWI because of the revolutions going on in Europe and the purchases being made in areas such as weaponry and defense. The more a country spent on weapons, or simply the more weapons they had in their control, the bigger threat they were. This dramatically increased tension between European nations until war inevitably broke out.

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

would this make sense

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Definitely! Going along at the commonalities we've highlighted earlier, it's not as if the countries directly assaulted each other but rather that the indirect tensions and government inadequacies lead them to war. That makes perfect sense

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

thanks

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

no problem :)

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

i need help on one more thing

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

sorry if im bothering you

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Sure :) Don't forget to medal, that is all. you are never a bother!

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

thanks and i need to write a paragraph based on document 3 only what was the biggest reason for the beginning of world war I

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

I need to include at least 2 pieces of evidence

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

okay, let me look at document 3 again

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

ok thanks

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

it seems like there's a lot of common themes of government control here.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

for your first piece of evidence, you could use the first sentence, "Austria-Hungary claimed that Serbia's government wasn't strict enough"

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Can you find other related pieces of evidence for me?

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

for the second could be Austria-Hungary demanded that Serbia a formal assurance, such as a contract perhaps, stating that they would put an end to the propaganda that was against their government.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Right! They wanted their government to look as good as possible, even though it was clear that there was discontent.

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

okay ill try to write a paragraph about it but idk if im going to do it good

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

I could read through it if you'd like, help you connect those ideas

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

It seems to me like you have a pretty solid understanding

OpenStudy (wintersuntime):

okay thanks
