Hello, Puppies! For the sides of the frame to be parallel, you'd have to have a 90 degree angle at each and every corner. Thus, angles a and b have to add up to 90 degrees. Once you've eliiminated the 2 answers that could not be correct, look carefully at the other 2. Given that the widths of the wood sides of the frame are not the same, which of the remaining two answers seems to be the better? Why?
im not really sure on this one, the image that they are giving doesnt seem very clear to me @mathmale
Think of the frame as FLAT (2-dimensional). Again, the 2 angles a and b at each corner MUST add up to 90 degrees. If you look at the first answer choice (a=40 and b=60), you see they add up to 100 degrees. Therefore, eliminate that choice. Couldn't be correct. Proceed, soldier!
a should be 30 and b should be 60 correct?
@phi could u help
it's showing a "picture frame"
oh, i see
so it is C, because it adds up to a right angle @phi
parallel requires opposite (kitty-corner ) angles be equal but because all the angles are a+b and the 4 angles (corners) have to add up to 360 we nned 4(a+b)= 360 a+b= 90 and only one of the choices add up to 90
thank you, i got 100 on the quiz @phi
