To solve first distribute `-` into the parenthesis....since we are distributing a negative the signs inside the parenthesis will change to its opposites.... \(\huge\bf{-(-2-5x) \rightarrow 2+5x}\) Now we simplify like terms...Since we have a positive 2 and a negative 2 they will cancel out....so we have... \(\huge\bf{5x = 18}\) So we follow the `Division Property of Equality` in which we divide by 5 from both sides... \(\huge\bf{\frac{5x}{5}=\frac{18}{5}}\) Simplify ;)

OpenStudy (emilymara):

the answer is x= 3.6

OpenStudy (lettypenguin):

thank you guys
