pulses of visible light or infrared can be sent down optical fibres. What name is given to this type of communication? What are its advantages compared to normal phone lines?

I'd say an advantage with Endoscopy is that there are no risks to take in order to see what's wrong with the patient, compared to doing some sort of major surgery. In an upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy, your doctor places an endoscope through your mouth and down your esophagus. An endoscope is a flexible tube with an attached camera. ... Your doctor can use forceps, or tongs, and scissors on the endoscope to operate or remove tissue for biopsy.

Welcome :)

2nd part of questions?

OpenStudy (osprey):

optical fibre communications may be what it's called or some comb of those words. speed of data transfer is ad. also bandwidth which means high quality video which doesn't chop up much. also huge numbers of people yakking to each other all over the world, much as I'm doing now, in fact. http://perendis.webs.com

OpenStudy (osprey):

It may also be called PULSED CODE MODULATION (PCM), if memory serves me. There's a song "Tripping the light fantastic" which people who research this area probably don't know, but it refers to the data capacity when you "hitch a lift on board a light signal". Thing is, though, conventional electronic circuit components aren't able to pass light beams, so it's a new technology. Good job if you can get it !

OpenStudy (13ziar):

so what would I write for a complete final answer for the two questions

OpenStudy (osprey):

Ahhh now there you've got me. Ads itemised as very large volume of comms channels. very high video/audio quality very fast response times. very high data storage capacity The NAME of it, though ... hmmm optical data communications ? (I've got no idea) @IrishBoy123 maybe shamrock can help ?

OpenStudy (13ziar):

k thnx
