OpenStudy (jtfan2000):

A radioisotope is place near a radiation detector, which registers 80 counts per second. Eight hours later, the detector registers five counts per section. What is the isotope’s half-life?

OpenStudy (johnnyq):

60 minutes in 1 hour so 80 x 60 seconds/min = 4800 / 8 hours = 600 per half-life
