Write the equation of the line that passes through (-1,5) and has a slope of 3 in point slope form. 1) x+1=3(y-5) 2) x-5=3(y+1) 3)y-5=3 (x+1) 4) y+1=3(x-5) Can someone help me with this problem?

Hello there, welcome to OpenStudy!

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Something that's important to know when going about problems like these is the formula which you will be plugging things into. So in this case, the point slope form is as follows: y – y1 = m(x – x1)

OpenStudy (annabeljoan):

Yes i used that to plug in the information but i'm not sure I did it right.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

well lets look at the point that we are given. (-1,5). What is the x coordinate and what is the y coordinate?
