\[f(x)=4x^{3}+2x^2+3x-1, find f ^{-1}(6)\]
OpenStudy (3mar):
Do you mean the first derivative of f(x)
\[\frac{ df(x) }{ dx }??\]
OpenStudy (3mar):
@Venomblast
OpenStudy (3mar):
@Venomblast
OpenStudy (venomblast):
I took the derivative and I still and plugged in 6. I did not get the answer.

OpenStudy (venomblast):
I am suppose to find \[f ^{-1}(-6)\]
OpenStudy (3mar):
first : derive
second : substitute with 6 in the derived function
OpenStudy (3mar):
need to do it together?
OpenStudy (venomblast):
I did that.
OpenStudy (3mar):
so?

confused about what?
OpenStudy (venomblast):
did not get the answer
OpenStudy (3mar):
what the answer you got?
OpenStudy (venomblast):
411
OpenStudy (venomblast):
not even close to my answer.

\[f'(x)=12x^2+4x+3\]
\[f'(6)=12*36+3*6+3=459\]
where can youfind the error?
OpenStudy (venomblast):
i said -6 not 6. i corrected myself. and that is not even close to the answer.
OpenStudy (3mar):
ok
No problem.
\[f'(-6)=12*36-24+3=411\]
OpenStudy (venomblast):
still wrong
OpenStudy (3mar):
so what is the right answer?

You seem too sad, so that you don't respond!
OpenStudy (venomblast):
i am. the answer is a much smaller digit.
Directrix (directrix):
Do you think that you are to find f inverse of 6?
OpenStudy (3mar):
I don't think so because Venomblast did not say "no" to me when I started talking about first derivative of f(x)
