Read this passage: Kara walked through the lot as the coming storm transformed the sky into an angry sea of shadowy figures. She unlocked the door just as Kevin shouted her name. The wind began to howl, and the rest of Kevin's words were lost in a cacophony of rustling leaves and tortured branches as they scraped against the building. She began walking toward him when the rain started, the shower soaking her immediately, the strands of her wet hair striking her cheeks like a lash. What is an example of imagery in the passage?
A. She began walking toward him when the rain started B. lost in a cacophony of rustling leaves and tortured branches C. the rest of Kevin's words were lost D. She unlocked the door just as Kevin shouted her name.
first: What does "imagery" mean to you?
imagery is the literary term used for language and description that appeals to our five senses.
@mathmale
Good definition. Look for such "language and description" in the given passage.
so would the answer be either A or D
am i correct
@mathmale
Please explain how A and/or D illustrate "imagery."
They don't. They're just basic, plain statements with no imagination, no imagery involved. On the other hand, "cacophony of rustling leaves and tortured branches" has brilliant imagery. You can almost hear the leaves and see the branches bent all out of shape.
oh okay thanks sorry for replying so late i was doing a test
