OpenStudy (love_cheer3):

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

One sec, trying to find my screenshot, sorry.

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

I can't figure this one out :/

OpenStudy (love_cheer3):

let me get my brother to figure this one out. lol

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

Okay

sam (.sam.):

\[\large (a^xb^y)^z=a^{xz}b^{yz}\]

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

So... \[3x ^{27}y ^{67}\] ?

sam (.sam.):

Nonono \[\large (a^xb^yc^p)^z=a^{x \times z}b^{y \times z}c^{p \times z}\]

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

\[3x ^{14}y ^{42}\] ?

sam (.sam.):

Do that with the '3' as well, that power z applies to all terms inside the parentheses

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

Oh.... \[28x ^{14}y ^{42}\]

OpenStudy (gracygirl):

There's nothing else that goes in there? Because in the lesson (see screenshot) the 'y' was placed there already (I didn't put it there) and I can't move it....so my answer needs to be with the y and I don't understand how or why....
