what is this??? A student scored 83 and 91 on her first two quizzes. Write and solve a compound inequality to find the possible values for a third quiz score that would give her an average between 85 and 90, inclusive.
What would the formula for "average value" in this case? Please type it out.
I don't know that's the point
We need to find a compound inequality that will give us an average between 85 and 90. Okay, good. A compound inequality is something like 70 < x < 95. Let x be the third score. We know 85 < (x + 91 + 83)/3 < 90. Let's break that up into two. (x + 174)/3 > 85 and (x + 174)/3 = 90. Can you solve each of these inequalities for x?
If you are 16 and I am 72 (which I am), what is the average of our ages?
44
thx SapphireMoon
yw, sorry I interrupted @mathmale, he was starting at a more elementary level than I was...
lol im a graduate honestly I didn't need help I wanted to see if anyone else would get it but now I see that there are a lot of people who like math like I do :D
Your time might be better spent posting NEW questions. Glad you enjoy math. Let's move on to more challenging questions.
alright
lol Testing people is mostly for the OS Feedback section (which we basically use for general stuff).
