Help please
Hint: If vertex of a parabola is at (h,k), then it's equation is \(y=a(x-h)^2+k\) a is a constant to be determined. h=x-coord. of vertex k=y-coord. of vertex
3.5=a(7-6)^2+1.5
Exactly. So you found it! :)
Oh wow thanks!!!!
You did a good job! Well done! You're welcome!
C right?
Because 1^2 is 1
I don't work with letter choices. But you need to match h and k with the given choices.
Oh okay so match h and k
@zarkam21 Do you know what values of h and k (coordinates of the vertex) are?
Look at the vertex of the diagram and tell me the coordinates of the vertex, please.
H=6 K=1.5 X=7 Y=3.5
@mathmate Ufhm, you're disappearing on me now, how could you Haha =)
Sorry, I usually go around my questions, and if there is no response, then I have to go and continue my other chores! lol Good, you would need 7 and 3.5 to find that a=2. However, you could also have identified the choice of answer by h and k alone. Which one do you think fits h=6 and k=1.5? Compare the equation y=a(x-h)+k with each of the choices.
y=2(x-6)^2+1.5
Exactly! You got it. Well done!
