Clarification about Discussion of Other Websites It seems there is some confusion with OpenStudy’s policy against mentioning other websites on OS, so I want to clarify about this. After reviewing the current policy, I have made a change. Going forward, it will be acceptable for you to simply mention other websites in some different contexts. (Keeping in mind that it will depend on the context - for example, if you’re posting about the use of another site on a question or answer, your post still may be deleted if it is not at all relevant to the question.) examples of posts that could be okay: “I haven’t been on for awhile because I’ve been visiting PeerAnswer a lot" “I wish I was a YouTuber! :3" However - it is not acceptable to discuss other websites in these contexts: 1. Do not promote other websites on OpenStudy. examples: "I made a new site! Come join it - thisisacopyofopenstudy.com” “You should ask on PeerAnswer instead” 2. Do not post negative comments about any website on OpenStudy. Constructive feedback is okay, negativity for the sake of negativity is not. ex. “This site is the worst, [other site] is the best." ex. “The mods on [site] are all horrible people.” 3. Do not post questions about other sites, as these questions are not school-related. (ex. "Is PeerAnswer down?!”) 4. Don’t share your personal info from another site or social platform. Mods have been notified of this change going forward.
This was much needed thank you! :)
On #2 I noticed some mods, posting negative comments on OS feedback .-.
+1 over all
"thisisacopyofopenstudy.com" Oml I'm dying! x'D also this was a change that needed to happen sooner or later :P
About constructive feedback, looks like PeerAnswer finally listened and made the server bigger.
Eh, that is not what they meant... they meant to the website you are on... E.G. You can post constructive feedback about OS on OS, not about PA on OS.
Very much agreed!
?? i don't get it
Did you even read it?

duh that's why i don't get it
+1. Great change! Thank you.
I know. I was just saying that because the PA people went back to their side of the fence.
barely any mods come online and none of them distribute warnings/suspensions for anything anymore
feedback is of no use lol
Is this part of the CoC now? o:
i think so
It isn't part of the CoC or the TaC (yet). This is just clarification.
What if the question was like "Is Brainly working?"
@Elsa213 it would depend on if you asked in a chat or as a question. As a question, it's not related to any school subject, so it would be removed.

Thank you for clarifying! I strongly agree! I agree with @AloneS. Some Moderators are spreading negativity and others, not. @ILovePuppiesLol, that's not entirely true. There are still moderators here that have hope in OpenStudy so let's try to keep the scales up! :)
ty for posting this @5ever now people just have to follow it..so much fun, because nobody ever does
I'm being a wet blanket. :|

I'm not sure where you inferred that from. Chats are still a place to take a break from the studying.
Which infers that if you asked it in the chat, you're perfectly fine. Whatever you say in the questions needs to be school related.
That doesn't constitute as personal information.

lol I have not been notified :c
why is everyone copying google+ that's plagiarism, you know.
Closing this post now - If you have any additional questions about this, feel free to message me :)
