OpenStudy (ronpayne):

Scientific notation (also referred to as standard form or standard index form) is a way of expressing numbers that are too big or too small to be conveniently written in decimal form. Then 0.0000068 in Scientific Notation means move the decimal to the right, counting the number of places, until the decimal point is between 6 and 8. In this case, the decimal point is moved 6 places to the right making it times 10^-6 and the number is 6.8 x 10^-6 power.

OpenStudy (maxwellfish):

6.8 to the power of 10 to the negative 6

OpenStudy (rye2581):

6.8*10^6

OpenStudy (rye2581):

6.8*^-6 put the decimal in the appropriate space and count how many spaces it took to get there. If you need anymore help I do believe I have my notes from this still I can always send them over.
