There are 6 quarters in a jar. Jill adds 2 quarters to the jar every day. Which linear equation represents the total amount of quarters in the jar after x days? y=16x+2y=16x+2 6y = 2x y = 6x + 2 y = 2x + 6

OpenStudy (seratul):

If there is already 6 quarters in the jay, then the y intercept is 6. If you are adding two everyday, then it should be 2x. The answer is choice 4.

thank you so much! been stuck in that for hours. Appreciate it

Np

OpenStudy (sushi121212):

y = 2x + 6 should be your answer since there is already 6 jars, but everyday (x) you add 2 more, so you get y=2x+6. The 6 is what was already there and the 2x is how much it will increase per day!

OpenStudy (halloweeninheaven):

thank you!
