OpenStudy (lshanab):

A brick is resting on the surface of a flat board. As one end of the board is slowly raised, what change, if any, is there in the normal force exerted on the brick? a. The normal force decreases b. The normal force increases c. Only the direction of the normal force changes d. The normal force remains constant

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

What do you think? The normal force is always perpendicular to the surface. What's the normal force once you've raised the block to an angle of 90 degrees?

OpenStudy (osprey):

d the normal force remains constant. but it has components which change as the angle of the surface with respect to the horizontal changes, I think.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

^the normal force doesn't remain constant, @osprey
