Announcement: OpenBrainly Applications Now Open! Hi everyone! Big announcement today about the OpenStudy Moderation Program. What’s new with OpenStudy Moderation? The OpenStudy Moderation Program is reopening and will soon accept new Ambassadors and Mods-in-Training! Ambassadors who are eligible are invited to apply for a new moderation training program. OS users interested in OpenStudy Moderation are invited to apply as well! This new training program will be a bit different. Ambassadors and Moderators-in-training will join a new branch of the Mod Team called OpenBrainly, and will be trained to moderate and/or help out on both OpenStudy and Brainly. Why are new Mods going to be trained to mod on both sites? Won’t that be confusing? Brainly and OpenStudy are working together to build the world’s largest student-powered social learning community. Now we have a chance to bring our Mod Teams together as well! Leaders from both the Brainly and OpenStudy Mod Teams will be invited to help train members of the new program, and following the training period, OpenBrainly members can choose to be a part of either OR both moderation teams, in addition to having their own special communication channel. OpenStudy and Brainly have different moderation tools, but since the sites and their guidelines are similar, it shouldn’t be hard to master moderation on both sites. What are the requirements of the OpenBrainly program? To be eligible for the program, you must: -be at least 13 years of age -be an active user on either OpenStudy or Brainly, or both -have an excellent record of conduct on either or both sites -apply using the application form here! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1WSjCeimvOJx9C7VcT9YAFHpseltVGx9mQmUpP2dnRj4 If you are selected to enter into the OpenBrainly Program as a Moderator, we ask that you: -try to complete at least 50 moderation actions per week on either OpenStudy, Brainly, or both. (This can take as little as 30 minutes a week.) -agree to follow our Moderator Code of Conduct. What if I only want to moderate on either OpenStudy OR Brainly? That’s fine! All we ask is that you at least learn HOW to moderate on both sites - you might find that you like working on both sites, and with both teams. Once you’ve completed the training, you’re welcome to complete your weekly moderation requirement on either or both sites. What if I’m already a Moderator on OpenStudy? Does anything change for me? If you’re a Mod on OpenStudy, you’ll continue moderating here as usual, with one change - our team will have an updated set of moderation guidelines to follow by the end of this week, and you will be asked to moderate according to these new guidelines. OpenStudy’s Code of Conduct won’t change, but the new guidelines will offer additional guidance about handling different situations, and suggested actions to take. If you’d like to get involved with the OpenBrainly program, we would love your help with training new moderators on OpenStudy moderation, and mentoring them. Please contact 5ever if you’d like to volunteer to help, and you may be selected. What if I have a different question? Post it here, or PM 5ever!

there is a problem ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-38020669 with skills gaps, behaviour and many other things. My problem with this problem is that I don't know where , if anywhere, I can post this problem. Because of the censorhip and spamming rules, and sundry other attempts at emailing OS and not getting responses. So, I'll have a go at posting it here. It's meant to be a discussion item. Considering that I'm posting on what I so far am lead to believe is an educational website I find all this bizarre.
