OpenStudy (misskalosqueen):

Simplify the expression (-5xyz^3)^2

OpenStudy (tgstudios):

ummmmm...... huh?

OpenStudy (misskalosqueen):

It's exponents.... I have this Maths test today that I didn't exactly study for, they're supposed to be exponents, and the one symbol is supposed to be the number at the top...

alones (alones):

@MissKalosQueen so like this? \[(-5xyz^3)^2\] And you need to simplify that?

OpenStudy (misskalosqueen):

@AloneS yes...

alones (alones):

Alright so use the Multiplication Distributive Property _> \( (xy)^a=x^ay^{a} \) \[\ 5^2x^2y^2(z^3)^2\]

alones (alones):

So than simplify \( 5^2\) to \(25\) \[\ 25x^{2}y^2(z^3)^{2}\]

alones (alones):

I mean the last 2 is also an exponent \[25x^{2} y^2(z^3)^{2}\]

alones (alones):

So can you tell me what your fianl answer would be? ;3

OpenStudy (misskalosqueen):

Wouldn't be the exponent above? 25x^2y^2z^6? Like this?

alones (alones):

Lol yea

OpenStudy (misskalosqueen):

@AloneS Thank you!! I'm eternally grateful!

alones (alones):

awhh that's sweet to hear<3 You're welcome!
