OpenStudy (summersnow8):

I just need someone to look over these problems, to see if I have answered these correctly and understand the concepts. 1. Which of the following is not correct concerning Michaelis Menten kinetics for enzyme catalyzed reactions? a. The VMAX is obtained when [S] is equal to 2 KM KM is equal to [S] that half-saturates the enzyme b. The maximum velocity (VMAX) occurs the when the enzyme is saturated with substrate c. The kinetic plot of velocity vs. [S] is hyperbolic shaped d. A useful approximation is “the smaller the KM, the better the E to S binding I was thinking A

OpenStudy (jaedyn):

can you please help me on my work

OpenStudy (fosterwestlake):

You are correct. Vmax would occur when the graph is extrapolated to infinity not necessarily when the substrate concentration is equal to 2Km. All the other answers are also true statements.
