Draw the structure using IR and HNMR
This is the IR, the HNMR is the first attachment
According to our prof, we have to figure out our unknown structure. There are 5 HNMR peaks: quartet, singlet, singlet, doublet, triplet. For the IR, our prof confirmed we have a carbonyl group, ether, and alkane. So there must be an ester in the structure. She said there are no C=C double bonds in the structure. I took this to a few tutors and classmates and they couldn't get the correct structure either. We worked hours on this. If you think you have it please reply ASAP.
Do you have the formula, or a mass spectrum?
Turns out I couldn't figure it out bc the prof didn't tell me my unknown was contaminated. There r supposed to be 4 instead of 5 signals. It's all good I got this solved
@aaronq there was no mass spec nor CNMR nor molecular formula but the prof got back to me in an email. It's all good I got it solved
