PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!! Maria looks at the architectural plan of a four-walled room in which the walls meet each other at right angles. The length of one wall in the plan is 13 inches. The length of the diagonal of the floor of the room in the plan is approximately 15.26 inches. Is the room in the shape of a square? Explain how you determined your answer. Show all your work.

OpenStudy (danjs):

They give you one side length 13, and the diagonal length 15.26 |dw:1477665215397:dw|

OpenStudy (danjs):

Is it a square? Figure out the missing side length, if it is also 13 then it is a square.

OpenStudy (3mar):

Nice presentation!

OpenStudy (killershark737):

so i would do \[c ^{2}-b ^{2}=a ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

right

OpenStudy (killershark737):

since the way to find the diaganle line is by doing \[a ^{2}+b ^{2}=c ^{2}\]

OpenStudy (killershark737):

7.9917207158408632667222123368883 is the answere

OpenStudy (killershark737):

and it is a square

OpenStudy (danjs):

right, so you have |dw:1477665606839:dw|
