HELP I WILL MEDAL! Some rocks are pushed deeper into the Earth. As these rocks experience greater heat and pressure, what type of rock will they turn into if they do not melt?

Igneous rocks could be formed by IGNITION (as in the thing in the car) or INTENSE HEAT AND PRESSURE (good for making DIAMONDS, too). I guess that if they DON'T melt, they become META MORPHIC. Morph being shape. and META being I don't know what exactly. Diamonds are a FORM/SHAPE OR MORPH of carbon and a great many substances can change their shapes both extrernally and internally under enough "duress", shall we say. And, there's PLENTY of duress happening below the earth's surface. We're talking V high temperatures and forces associated with masses in the BILLIONS of tonnes region. (ie don't get your fingers burned or jammed - it will surely hurt). http://perendis.webs.com
