OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):

Speech Preparation 1. The general purpose of my speech is to (check one): _____ inform _____ persuade _____ motivate _____ entertain 2. Who is your audience? 3. Decide on a topic. Write a list of general subject areas that match your knowledge and experience. Think about subjects you’ve excelled at in school or activities you’ve practiced for years. You can also think of subjects that may interest you or your audience or choose topics for which you may know an expert with whom you can speak. 4. Now that you’ve created a list of subjects, narrow your topic down. What is the topic? What do I already know about my topic? Write down key words and phrases about what you already know.
