Surface area to volume ratio decreases whenever volume increases, the larger an object, the smaller its surface area to volume ratio but the more elongated the object, the larger the surface area to volume ratio (if it has the same volume.) Larger cells will have smaller surface to volume ratios than other smaller cells & elongated cells. (such as some nerve cells) will have more surface area than spherical cells of the same volume.
