OpenStudy (firejay5):

Solve each equation. Then check your solution.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

\[-8 (4 + 9x) = 7 ( -2- 11x)\]

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@Poto sorry about that

OpenStudy (poto):

It's fine :)

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Anyways..... I used distributive property on both sides and got -72x - 32 = -77x - 14

OpenStudy (firejay5):

then I added 72x on both sides and go -32 = -5x - 14

OpenStudy (firejay5):

then I added 14 on both sides and got -18 = -5x and then divided by -5 on both sides and got x = 3.6

OpenStudy (poto):

You got it correct

OpenStudy (firejay5):

-8(4 + 9(3.6) = -291.2 and 7(-2 - 11(3.6) = -291.2 in other words the solution is x = 3.6

OpenStudy (firejay5):

My mistake was I forgot to add the 9 into the problem -8 (4 + (3.6))

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@Poto The reason I didn't want help for the same problem was because he said I missed the -11 and I knew that; it pissed me off when he re-wrote the problem for me in which I was going to do (basically not giving me the time to fix my problem on my own)

OpenStudy (poto):

It's okay man, I understand. Don't like when that happens.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

that's why I said nevermind I don't need help anymore.

OpenStudy (poto):

Okay, but yeah you got it right. I did it and got 3.6 or 18/5

OpenStudy (firejay5):

thanks for understanding
