Dear Human Body, I heard you were looking for the most important organ in your body. Good news, you found it! I am the liver, possibly the most vital part of your body, second to the brain, of course. Did you know that I undertake over five hundred jobs for your body? One of my many jobs include removing dangerous toxins from your body. I do a lot to keep you in tip-top shape. I bet that you didn't know that I am the second largest organ in your body. I am the first largest internal organ that your body contains. I also break down fat and cholesterol, something that needs to be done quite often. The list goes on and on, I only listed a few of my many jobs. Needless to say, I am essential for your body. One of my many jobs as the liver, is to clean your blood. I flush out dangerous toxins that you take in. For example, smoke can be harmful for you to breathe in, but I purify it as best as I can. Imagine you were playing outside and get a cut. Though cuts are not destructive getting a blood infection could very well be. The way that I help you in this situation is right away, when you get a cut, I purify the blood. After that you just have to keep the cut clean! Well, I really have to go back to work, but I hope you know that I am a must-have. I make sure that you're healthy by doing more than five hundred jobs for you. Having clean blood is essential for your body and I make that possible. I do not mean to brag, but I am critically necessary for your body. Without me you would not be here or you would be close to dying. Thank you for your time, The Liver.

Are you an older sibling? When I was about 7 years old I became an older sister and it changed my life completely. Becoming an older sister was something that brought about many changes in my routine, my family and even my work-load. Because my baby sister took many naps, it meant that I had to be more quiet at certain times, even throughout the day! Family outings were also a lot harder, we always had to load and unload the stroller and push the baby! I had to help out around the house a lot more, I had to start doing things like the dishes, dusting, and even vacuuming. I guess having a younger sister isn't all fun! According to statistics, babies sleep on average about sixteen hours a day. They also can be very light sleepers. Changing the tone of my voice was a very hard thing to learn. Many times I got in trouble because I forgot be quiet while the baby was taking a nap. The hardest part was when Alaina would be taking a nap while friends were over. Many times we would all be playing inside, and even though mom told us to be quiet, we soon were too loud and woke up my sister. The sound of a baby crying when she woke up was something that didn't make my mom happy at all. As a family, we used to take long trips to see relatives in Nashville or even all the way up in Minnesota. Even though I would sometimes fight and argue with my older sister in the car, at least we had plenty of room. With a large car seat and all the baby stuff, my older sister and I were crammed into the backseat with no where to put all of our own stuff. We had to pull into parking lots and stop so that mom could change the baby and that made the trips even longer. But none of that was a big deal compared to when Alaina decided to cry for a couple of hours. She gave everyone a headache because she was so loud. I felt sorry for her, because there was nothing we could do to make her feel better because we had to keep driving for a while. Having Alaina around meant that I had to help more around the house. My older sister, Abby, and I would clean the kitchen, I had to do the dishes. I played with a Alaina a lot, but that didn't seem like much of a chore, until I had to clean up the mess. A lot of times I had to dust the house, I would imagine dust bunnies coming out of all the dust I found! I had to keep up with all of my regular chores, for example, feeding the fish, walking the dog, cleaning my room, and a couple more. My mom and dad are both great cooks, so I would sit on the counter and watch them make food, it smelled so good! I always had so many chores to do, though quite a few were pretty fun. Having a little sister around is really fun, but I never thought how much it would change our lives. She puts a smile on our face each and every day and it is amazing to see how much she is growing and learning. Even if I had to be quiet in order for her to go to sleep, I would have rather gone outside and played then to not have a little sister at all. Alaina is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. Though it was hard to take family trips with a baby I still had so much fun! Doing more chores was one of the hardest things that came with being an older sister, yet I always had a little bit of fun with them. All in all, being a big sister is great, I can't imagine life without Alaina.
