Sarah = Distence of side school to mall + Distence of mall to library side Bret = distence of School to library side Overall = Sum of all sides of triangle Find the length of the sides using distence formula \[D = \sqrt{(y2 - y1)^2 + (x2 - x1)^2}\] i will find the length of all sides and then get their sum to find the overall as we stated. start with side School, mall (10,-11) (10,10) \[D = \sqrt{(10+11)^2 + (10-10)^2}\] \[D = 21\] Side mall library (10,10) (-10,10) \[D = \sqrt{(10-10)^2 + (-10-10)^2}\] \[D = 20\] Side library school (-10,10) (10,-11) \[D = \sqrt{(-11-10)^2 + (10+10)^2}\] \[D = 29\] Overall = 21 + 20 +29 Overall = 70 miles

Question 2 Can be solved using pythagorean Theorem because the triangle is a right triangle we have one of the legs = 15 and the hypotenuse = 25 we need to find the 2nd leg \[a^2 + b^2 = C^2\] where a is the 1st leg and b is the 2nd and c is the hypotenuse 15^2 + b^2 = 25^2 we need to find b 1st simplify 225 + b^2 = 625 b^2 = 625 - 225 b^2 = 400 now to get rid of the square exponent we need to sqrt both sides \[b = \sqrt{400}\] b = 20 hope that helps
