I'd guess at 2 If hot air meets cold air then they may well mix, and the temperatures may vary accordingly.. 

Wind is when the atmosp circulates, eg convection currents, A South Westerly in UK is a nice warm wind. It blows from the west. Winds probably do move easily across plains 'cos there's nowt to stop them nor to deviate them.
