@563blackghost @welshfella please help check this
First work out the capacity ( volume) of water that the conical glass can hold. Formula is 1/3 * pi * r^2* h
where r = radius of the top = 1/2 * 6 = 3 and h = 5.2
can you do that /
49?
use your calculator you can take pi to be 3.14 the glass on the right is a cone. so volume = (1/3) * 3.14 * 3^2 * 5.2
48.9
yeah - 48.98 to be more exact
48.984
lol
Ok now the total water is 100 ml so subtract 48.98 form that to get the volume of water in the other glass. The other glass is a cylinder and the formula for volume of cylinder is V = pi * r^2 * h we know that V = 100-48.98 , pi = 3.14 and we need to find the value of the height h. So plug in these values and solve for h.
r = 1/2 * 5 = 2.5 so we have the equation 51.02 = 3.14 * 2.5^2 * h Find h and you have the answer.
lol ur too fast for me
sorry Do you see how I got that equation?
yeah lol i was just typing it but you typed faster
i got 31.4?
No first work out 3.14 * 2.5^2
19.625 @welshfella
right so we have 51.02 = 19.625h To find h we divide both sides of the equation by 19.625 This, of course, gives h on the right side and value of h will be on the left:- 51.02 / 19.625
so like 51.02/19.62 ?
if that, it's 2.599
yea
right, which is a) 2.6 cms.
thanks!!
