Felicia joined an online book club. The monthly membership fee is 99¢. Each book she downloads costs her $2.99 and each magazine costs her $1.49. During her first 3 months of membership, she downloaded 4 more magazines than books and her total bill was $22.37.

How many books and magazines did she download?

.99 multiuplied by 3 = ? subtract that from the total bill , multiply the magazine total then subtract from the total bill and then divide the remainder by the book fee total and you should have enough for an equal number of magazines in which you would add to the previous ones
