OpenStudy (blazeryder):

Alright, this is a recording question! I play the keyboard and I am having a hard time recording and getting a good sound. How do you guys record a keyboard and get the true sound of your keyboard. I have a $1000 piano and it sounds really great so I do not want to buy a $200 Virtual Instrument. I heard of using a 1/4 inch to usb? Opinions!?

OpenStudy (thesmarttobias):

does it have any output connections that can lead to a recording device or speaker

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

I have an MIDI out and MIDI in. I also have 2 1/4 inch output jacks and 1 1/4 inch input jack. @ThesmartTobias

I have... Phew, I have two pianos, one of which is a Conc. Grand Steinway. I told my dad I needed microphones, so he just bought a random microphone he saw in a store. It's about $100, and it's called Yeti Stereo but it is quite a microphone!

OpenStudy (blazeryder):

Yeah, I have a Yeti Microphone for my 2 acoustic guitars but the room my piano is in has a fish 75 gallon fish tank. So the mic picks up the sound of the fish tank...... I just ordered an 1/4 inch to usb to see if it works. Fingers crossed! I have to get recording sometime because I have a competition I am going to compete in coming up in the beginning of the year!
