Ugh okay I really need help
Triangle XYZ, with vertices X(-1, -3), Y(-1, -1), and Z(-3, -1), is translated 2 units right and one unit down to form triangle X′Y′Z′. What are the coordinates of the vertices of triangle X′Y′Z′? X′(1, 4), Y′(1, -2), and Z′(-1, 0) X′(1, -4), Y′(1, -2), and Z′(-1, -2) X′(-1, 4), Y′(-1, 2), and Z′(1, 0) X′(1, -4), Y′(1, -2), and Z′(-1, 0) X′(-3, -4), Y′(-3, -2), and Z′(-5, -2)
huh?
|dw:1478089879376:dw| You can use the Pythagoras theorem to find c. That will give you the distance between point C and D c^2=a^2+b^2
I'm so confused
The formula is also given to you in the question
-4? im confused
So the values are as follow (-1,4) (x1,y1) (2,0) (x2,y2) Can you see how you can substitute these values into the equation to find d?
so it would be 1,-4?
I am not sure what exactly you are referring to but here is how I would do it Based on my previous reply: x2 = 2 x1 = -1 y2 = 0 y1 = 4 Now, we substitute these values into the equation they provided us with \[d = \sqrt{\left( x2-x1 \right)^2+\left( y2-y1 \right)^2}\] What do you get once you solve for d?
its 5 .
Yes, that's correct. So the distance between points C & D is 5 units
Thank you
Phil’s age is 7 years more than 1/5 times Peter’s age. Also, 4 times Phil’s age is 2 years less than twice Peter’s age. If x is Peter’s age in years, identify the equation that represents this situation and identify the solution to the equation.
post your own question ^
i do dont nobody answer
Phil’s age is 7 years more than times Peter’s age. Also, 4 times Phil’s age is 2 years less than twice Peter’s age. If x is Peter’s age in years, identify the equation that represents this situation and identify the solution to the equation.
