What are the errors in this sentence? There is one important one and one not so important: I came to the United State in the year of two thousand.

Well one mistake is it should be the United States not State.

Does anyone know why the "s" shouldn't be at the end of State?

The Error is in United State. The correct version will be United States. Since, State means One and the US has more than One state. It should be called the United States.
