Art is working on a research paper. On Monday, he checked out 19 books from the library. On Thursday, he returned 7 of the books and checked out 11 more. How many library books does Art have now?

Well if he checked out 19 books and then returned 7 books he would have 12 books left. And if he checked out 11 additional books he would have 23 books checked out
