Mathematics 20 Online
OpenStudy (zaynwich):

Identify the Opposite Operation we would use to get the variable alone: 1) y ∙ 6 = 18 2) 5k = 35 3) x ÷ 3 = 12 4) r/4 = 20

OpenStudy (maddielb):

What were you thinking?

OpenStudy (zaynwich):

Each of them are equations to solve, but this whole subject of opposite operations has confused me. I tried to ask my teacher about it but they never got back to me. @MaddieLB

OpenStudy (maddielb):

Whats the opposite of multiplication?

OpenStudy (zaynwich):

Division. I'm not sure what number would get that, though

OpenStudy (maddielb):

If you are trying to get the variable alone, you would divide both sides by 6, and you would get y=3

OpenStudy (maddielb):

And for 5k, they would be multiplying, so you would divide both sides again, this time by 5 and get k=7

OpenStudy (zaynwich):

This why I like this website so much. It teaches better than school, honestly. Thank you for that! This is due in an hour and I was about to give up haha

OpenStudy (maddielb):

I am glad to be able to help you, do you understand how to do the last 2?
