WILL MEDAL I want to first say that my science teacher said that we can use ANY resources we want. I specifically asked about OpenStudy and he said yes, so just before someone asks, I'm not cheating. :) Kent is twirling a ball attached to a string in a clockwise direction. If Kent lets go of the string, which of the following describes the motion that the ball will take if there are no gravitational forces influencing the motion of the ball? A. It will continue in a straight line. B. It will curve down and then turn back up. C. It will curve up and then fall to the ground. D. It will fall straight to the ground.

OpenStudy (osprey):

It will fly off at a tangent to he circle, at the point where it was snipped. The CENTRIPETAL FORCE provided by the taut string goes when snipped, and Newton's first law of motion is. "a body continues in a state of rest, or of uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by a resultant external force" It can get more complicated than this, and I had no intention whatever of asking :) If anyone gets anything out of any of these posts, then that's good. I think. http://perendis.webs.com

@osprey thanks!
