OpenStudy (jholt98):

explain how the governments of two different countries are similar and different.

OpenStudy (punderson):

Okay well lets say we will use democracy and oligarchy. A democracy is government by the people; a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them. An oligarchy is a form of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; usually by the wealthiest class.

OpenStudy (osprey):

uk compared to us. both "democracies", UK a monarchy, US a republic (nothing to do with the party intended here). UK voting system is "first past the post". US system is (to me) incomprehensible. UK can call an election within 5 years of prev if it wants to. US has fixed 4 year presidency (and also he/she is Head of State) US and UK are two countries "divided by the same language", as I think someone once said on TV.
