In this case, you are interested in oatmeal raisin or sugar cookies out of the total number of cookies available. There are 24 cookies, and 10 are either oatmeal raisin or sugar. The probability of the friend choosing oatmeal raisin or sugar is 10/24 or about 41.7%.
