OpenStudy (boombomm122):

Explain the process of removing a president from office. What role does the house of Representatives play? What role does the senate play?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Hi there! Welcome to OS! :) A majority of the members of the House of Reps must vote for charges against the President to impeach. The Senate has the power to try impeachment cases such as a court case. Two-thirds of the senators must vote for conviction to remove the President.

OpenStudy (osprey):

Presidents Nixon and Clinton hovered over the impeachment thing. I don't know if either were ACTUALLY impeached, or just threatened with it enough to in N's case make him vanish. N spawned "Watergate" and thereafter any scandal becomes "scandal gate".
