which means,
angle ABE and angle ACD are corresponding angles and are equal to each other

angle EBC and angle BCD are consecutive angles whose angles are supplementary, or when added together equal 180 degrees

Therefore
4x -3 = 3x +9
Solve for x
X = 12

Now angle ABE can be found by substituting x=12 in the expression
3x + 9
3(12) + 9
Therefore Angle ABE = 45

Now we know that ABE + Ebc = 180
Therefore
45 + 14y -5= 180
Solve for y
14y -5 = 135
14y = 140
