Tiger Woods had to four-put one of his holes. His puts were as follows: 10 metres southwest, 3 metres north, 4 m south east, and 0.5 m west. How far was the whole from his original putting position? In what direction?

I'm surprised that TW HAD to 4 putt. Wouldn't that be exactly what he DIDN'T want to do ?
Ernie Els managed a similar trick at the US, but on the first hole of the first round. End of tournament of Ernie.
