@steve816 @mathstudent55

OpenStudy (steve816):

Hint: EG - FG = EF

OpenStudy (mathsucks321):

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Not quite. Follow as to what steve816 said, `"EF - FG = EF"`. Plug in the expressions of each. \(\huge\bf{(8x+18)+27=149}\) You need to simplify, so we would combine like terms first. \(\huge\bf{8x+45=149}\) Now we subtract 45 from each side. \(\huge\bf{8x=104}\) Divide by 8. \(\huge\bf{\frac{8x}{8}=\frac{104}{8}}\)

OpenStudy (mathsucks321):

149-27

563blackghost (563blackghost):

We are trying to find `x` so we follow the process I typed above.

OpenStudy (mathsucks321):

Okay 8x/8=x 104/8=13 x=13

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Correct :)

OpenStudy (mathsucks321):

Thank you~

563blackghost (563blackghost):

your welcome :)
