OpenStudy (cp123):

Can someone explain to me what the difference between linear and exponential functions are in terms of when they are on a graph?

OpenStudy (cp123):

Like i know that exponential function's rate of change is always changing unlike linear, but what else? Is that it??

OpenStudy (3mar):

The exponential function does not touch the zero of y...never https://www.desmos.com/calculator/nv6sjrg9t8

OpenStudy (cp123):

okay thanks. is that all the differences? what about in tables?

OpenStudy (3mar):

"tables"?

OpenStudy (3mar):

The 1st derivative of the linear function is a constant value, and the 2nd is zero. The 1st derivative and the 2nd and the nth of the exponential function is always exponential.

OpenStudy (cp123):

Like a table of all the input/output values.
