OpenStudy (janyia):

8x^2-4x=0

OpenStudy (steve816):

Hint: factor out a 4!

OpenStudy (janyia):

I did that

OpenStudy (steve816):

What do you get?

OpenStudy (janyia):

4x^2-x=0

OpenStudy (steve816):

Oops! That is not quite right! It would look like\[\huge 4x(2x-1)=0\]

OpenStudy (janyia):

What do I do next

OpenStudy (janyia):

I need to find the factor form and solution

OpenStudy (sooobored):

well, in order for a value to be zero through multiplication, that means one of the terms in the product must be zero

OpenStudy (sooobored):

which means either 4x or 2x-1 must be equal to zero so you can set the individual equations as 4x=0 or 2x-1=0 and then solve for x if thats what the question is asking for

OpenStudy (janyia):

Thanks
